This mind sound really rude if you only consider how much you and (or) the kpop fandom is worrying about the idols, but I think it’s a pretty reasonable point.
It’s october now and I’ve seen a lot of kpop fans listing everything bad that has been occurring to kpop idols this year. Sometimes it isn’t even about the idols themselves, it may be about Korea or anything korean related. And when I say a lot of kpop fans, I really mean a lot. I understand that so many bad things happening to your idols in an apparently short period of time might seem out of control, but trust me, it’s not the apocalipse. There’s no need for listing every single bad thing that happens to kpop idols because they are pretty normal people. Just like you.
Bad things happen to anyone.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t care, I’m saying that the attitude I see seems like some people wish they could’ve put their kpop idols, their little gods, their little stars, in a glass dome so that they would never get hurt. I understand the affection and I truly understand worrying about someone you like, but you can’t do anything more than hope or pray for them, if you pray.
You cannot “be a better fan” because it’s not your duty to take care of anyone’s lives other than your own. It actually seems, sometimes, that some people would actually engage in a NGO only to protect their idols.
Your idols can also commit crimes. Your idols may also not take good care of their health. Your idols are as subject to suffering a car accident as anyone that does not drives safely (or is in a car which is not being driven safely) or does not wear a seatbelt. They’re not any special than any other person, not even a single bit. It’s as sad for them as it would be for anyone.
I’m not saying you should be mourning for everyone either. Just calm down. All we can do is hope that bad things stop happening. But, seriously, it doesn’t affects us more than that.
when you’re buying something and the cashier gives you change and people are waiting in line behind you and slowly moving forward and you’re trying to cram your change in your wallet and get out of the way as fast as you can that shit is horrifying and traumatic
